Getting a headshot ought to be enjoyable.

Too often, people come to me with fear in their hearts, having put off the inevitable photo session for far too long.  I’ve been an actor myself, and I know what it’s like to dread the headshot ordeal.

But getting a good picture doesn’t have to be hard.  In truth, it’s pretty simple.  I meet with you in my cozy studio several days before the photo shoot.  I offer you coffee and my full attention.  We talk to each other.  We listen.  Together, we take the time to figure out what kind of shots will work for you.

When the headshot day comes, you have your own private dressing room. Bring as many changes of clothes as you like, and we’ll sort them out together (usually we get through about four changes per session).  I can advise you as to what clothing works on camera, but I won’t force anything on you.  First and foremost, the look should be true to your style.

If you’d like a hair/makeup artist, I can recommend several who are terrific.  They’re all charming, talented, and completely professional.  Most importantly, you’ll look your best, and you’ll look like yourself – no heavy glam jobs here.

Once you’re looking great, we start shooting.  I take a few dozen test shots or so, trying different angles to see what works.  Take your time, get comfortable.  In my experience, it takes a while for people to relax fully in front of the camera, so I have no set picture limit.  We take as many shots as we need to get it right.

And trust me, the time flies.  You’re welcome to bring music, food,
a friend… whatever you need to help you have a good time.

So if you’re dreading your first headshot (or yet another headshot), give me a call and let’s talk.  I’ll do my best to make it fun.
